Educational Visits
Day visits connected with the curriculum are made throughout the school. During their time in the school children may visit such varied places at the local butcher’s shop, Cogges Farm, Green Park and the museums in Oxford.
These visits are considered a valuable experience and extension of curriculum work and parents are always informed when their children are going to be out of school, even if it is a visit to somewhere in the village.
The school has an Educational Visits policy drawn up in line with the Local Education Authority regulations and approved by the school Governing Body.
Each day visit is approved in advance by the Headteacher and the LEA is informed of the visit.
A risk assessment is carried out before each visit.
All children must have written parental approval for any visit which is beyond the school gate. Parents sign a form giving permission for local visits when their child enters the school but each trip which is out of the village requires additional permission from parents/carers.
Parents are asked to make a voluntary contribution towards the cost of the visit. |
