The school is fortunate to be supported by a very active PTA, which aims to foster good relationships and communication between parents and staff. Through fund-raising efforts, the PTA is instrumental in ensuring that the school remains a well-equipped, interesting and attractive learning environment. Funds raised by events like the Annual Ball and the Christmas Fayre, which are organized by the PTA, have allowed us to purchase items such as new reading books, computer software, play equipment and much more. The PTA has also provided an enormous contribution towards the cost of the new swimming pool.
The Committee also organises regular social events and one-off “hot lunch” events for the children each half-term, and provides a range of occasional events aimed at parents; such as coffee mornings, and a thrift shop, as well as social events for parents, children and our local community such as the family Pig Roast at the end of each summer term.
Parents help in a variety of practical ways both in and out of school. Their help is invaluable and is much appreciated by staff, governors and children alike.
We can utilise your talents, even for an hour per week. Currently parents contribute to the curriculum by helping with reading and related activities, food technology, art and craft activities, music, sport and by assisting on school trips/visits.
Parents also take part in a Maintenance Morning once a year when they share their ‘handyman’ talents and do lots of ‘odd jobs’ for the school.
