There is an active PTA with the aims of fostering good relationships and communication between parents and staff and the maintenance of the school as a well-equipped interesting and attractive learning environment. Fund raising by the PTA, through events like the Valentine’s Ball and the Xmas Fair, has resulted in the purchase of such items as reading books, computer software, play equipment and much more, including an enormous contribution towards the cost of the new swimming pool.
The Committee also organises social events for the children once per half-term, including a ‘hot lunch’ day, occasional parental events such as a coffee morning or through such events as a family Pig Roast in the summer.
Parents help in a variety of practical ways both in and out of school. Their help is invaluable and is much appreciated by staff, governors and children alike.
We can utilise your talents, even for an hour per week. Currently parents contribute to the curriculum by helping with reading and related activities, food technology, art and craft activities, music, sport and by assisting on school trips/visits.
Parents also take part in a Maintenance Morning once a year when they share their ‘handyman’ talents and do lots of ‘odd jobs’ for the school.
