Parents
Parental Involvement : Parents' Evenings
Parental Involvement
We aim to foster a meaningful partnership between home and school.
To this end parents are always welcome in school - either as visitors
or helpers.
Should any parent wish to discuss a matter regarding their child
we would wish to share and discuss this sooner rather than later.
It is usually possible to have a brief discussion with a class teacher
without an appointment at the end of the school day. If further
discussion is necessary, an appointment may be made. Likewise, the
Headteacher is available for discussion on the same basis. The Headteacher
is also committed to teaching every class during the term.
Parents who wish to view the school will need to make an appointment
when the Headteacher will be only too pleased to show them around.
Children about to enter school as Rising 5's are given the opportunity
to visit their new class. The Reception class teachers visit the
children at Pre-school and also have a meeting with parents in school.
Parents' Evenings
Parents are invited to discuss their individual child's progress
on a termly basis. These evenings culminate in a written Annual
Curriculum Report at the end of the Summer term.
For those children who have been assessed at the end of Key Stage
1 by the Governments Standard Assessment Tests/Tasks (Y2 children
only), National Curriculum levels will be indicated on the report
to give indication of normal progress.
The Y3 and 4 children are assessed by the optional Standard Assessment
Tests and the results of these tests are commented on by class teachers
in the Annual Curriculum Report. |
