The school’s main aims are seen as the encouragement of a child's best possible social behaviour, the fostering of his/her confidence, independence, reasoning and self-discipline together with a sound basic literacy in all areas of the curriculum.

Our specific aims are:

  1. To enable children to communicate readily through spoken language.
  2. Through first-hand experience to aid the acquisition of appropriate skills in Numeracy and Literacy taking account of the individual needs of the children.
  3. To lay foundations of Science, ICT and Technology.
  4. To develop within the children, socially acceptable standards of behaviour.
  5. To develop all aspects of a child's growth - intellectual, moral, social, physical, emotional and spiritual.
  6. To develop sympathetic attitudes towards the needs and welfare of others.
  7. To provide an environment which is organised, industrious and stimulating.
  8. To promote home/school/community relationships.
  9. Through the provision of a broadly-based curriculum, to help each individual child achieve their full potential.

The school aims to materially assist the development of a balanced, literate individual, eager to proceed to the next stage of his/her education. To this end, teaching methods will constantly seek and take account of the individual needs and abilities of each child.
