Aims of Marsh Gibbon School
The school’s main aims are seen as the encouragement
of a child's best possible social behaviour, the fostering
of his/her confidence, independence, reasoning and self-discipline
together with a sound basic literacy in all areas of the curriculum.
Our specific aims are:
- To enable children to communicate readily through spoken
language.
- Through first-hand experience to aid the acquisition
of appropriate skills in Numeracy and Literacy taking account
of the individual needs of the children.
- To lay foundations of Science, ICT and Technology.
- To develop within the children, socially acceptable standards
of behaviour.
- To develop all aspects of a child's growth - intellectual,
moral, social, physical, emotional and spiritual.
- To develop sympathetic attitudes towards the needs and
welfare of others.
- To provide an environment which is organised, industrious
and stimulating.
- To promote home/school/community relationships.
- Through the provision of a broadly-based curriculum,
to help each individual child achieve their full potential.
The school aims to materially assist the development of
a balanced, literate individual, eager to proceed to the next
stage of his/her education. To this end, teaching methods
will constantly seek and take account of the individual needs
and abilities of each child.
